RYOMA-KAIDO

20.Traditional Shikoku seiromushi cuisine

RYOMA-KAIDO

The restaurant interior is a space dedicated to the theme of “Prefectures of Shikoku.” The main counter seating area, which comes into view as you pass through the entrance, is themed on Tokushima Prefecture, the space filled with the dynamic sense of movement of Awaodori dance and the excitement of whirling currents.
Themed on the movie The Geisha, which is set in Kochi’s only entertainment district-hailed as the best in western Japan in its heyday-the horizashikiseki seating area has a red-based color scheme that exudes a bewitching ambiance. This space is perfect for large parties and dinners.
Opposite the horizashikiseki seating area, you will find the table seating area. Themed on Kagawa Prefecture, this area is decorated with marugame uchiwa fans, specialty products of the region, in the image of Japan’s oldest existing theater, the Kanamaruza Theatre.
Behind this area is a space decorated with motifs of the Dogo Onsen in Ehime Prefecture. This hot springs resort is said to have been the model for the oil shop in the animated film Spirited Away. The restaurant also offers numerous quiet private rooms on various themes, such as the Natsume Soseki Botchan Room and the Yushinden (the only bathroom in Japan reserved exclusively for members of the Imperial Family) Room.
